Right-Thinking Nigerians Will Support APC In 2023, We Are Still Managing The Economy

Right-thinking Nigerians, according to Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola, will support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the general election of 2023.

When he appeared on Channels TV today, July 24, Fashola said this. Fashola stated in response to a query about the likelihood of the ruling party winning the 2023 Presidential election.

“Nigerians have had the opportunity of two governments. On a very deep reflection, right-thinking and well-meaning Nigerians will re-elect our party into governance, I am optimistic about that.

I think we have served this country as efficiently as we can, in the most difficult of times.

No government has faced COVID; we did. No government has faced a global scarcity of resources caused by a war in which we are not involved; we did and we are still managing that economy, providing hope and sustainability. I’m optimistic that we will win.”

In other news, human rights lawyer Femi Falana has argued that, contrary to what government officials have asserted, the planned walkout by labor leaders to pressure the federal government to end the more than five-month-old strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is legitimate.

Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, stated in a statement on Sunday that the demonstration cannot be deemed illegal since workers in Nigeria have the right to assemble freely under Sections 39 and 40 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 Constitution.
