Martin Kpebu, a private lawyer joined Samson Anyenini on Saturday for Joy News’ political programme, Newsfile. Much of their discussion centered on the recently corruption index. The index placed the Ghana Police and Immigration Service as the 2 top institutions that are corrupt. According to Martin Kpebu, President Akufo-Addo was part of the corruption because he has looked on as things have been swept under the carpet at the Jubilee House.
Yesterday, Martin Kpebu apologized and said he might have got too passionate about the level of corruption and retracted connecting President Akufo-Addo to it. Johnnie Hughes today, Monday, July 25, 2022 on Johnnies Bite has hit hard at Martin Kpebu for apologizing. According to Johnnie, Martin Kpebu didn’t do anything wrong but only expressing his view. He wondered why Akufo-Addo could insult John Mahama when he was an opposition leader and now threatening others.
Johnnie called for Martin to come out and explain why he apologized. He mentioned that Martin should also let Ghanaians know if he was being threatened. “I don’t remember him Martin Kpebu speaking and apologizing before. Is he apologizing for speaking the truth? What is he apologizing about?” Johnnie asked. Johnnie maintained that Akufo-Addo is fighting all those who want to stop corruption. He wondered why President Akufo-Addo hasn’t sued to clear his name but rather making people apologize.
