Death is an inevitable moment that all of us dislike to experience but it is sad we all going to face it. As part of the cycle the of life in general, loved ones will be lost and their memories kept forever. Today marks the exact decade President left is in disguise to the ancestral world and he is being celebrated today.
Prior to this day, there has been so many controversies surrounding his resting place, Koku Anyidoho and Mills’s family. In a viral video online was Koku Anyidoho inspecting the new works done by Nana Addo to give the resting place of late Mills, Asomdwee Park a face lift which the family members claim he has tampered with the tomb. This and many more surfaced and finally, the Park has been commissioned by the sitting president.
Gabby Otchere Darko, a top NPP executive in his commemoration speech he shared via his official twitter page has sparked series of reactions online. He tweeted; “ 10yrs ago, Ghana for the 1st time lost its sitting president, John Evans Atta-Mills. May he continue to rest in asomdwe (peace). The presidency is a seat whose occupants know no peace. Asomdwehene was Mills’ nickname. Very proper to have a presidential cemetary named Asomdwe Park”.
This in the actual sense has nothing to do with politics but Ghanaians welcomes it in that context. Some even went in to issue warnings and bold statements saying “ Nana does not deserve to be buried there in case he passes on. He is not a man of peace if not all those who were wounded or died in election-related atrocities committed by the military, police, Delta etc should’ve been his concern”.
