Readers can recall how the Communications Minister has constantly updated Ghanaians about the fact that all mobile phone users should use their Ghana Card to re-register their SIM cards.
The Communications Minister gave July 31st 2022 as the deadline for the re-registration and promised that there would be no extension after this timeline.
Many Ghanaians have reacted to the Minister’s revelations as there seem to be a uniform response amongst them.
Whilst some fear that they may lose their sim cards because they do not have the Ghana Card, other Ghanaians believe that it was not realistic to fix the deadline on 31st July, 2022 because the entire process should be gradual and not compulsory.
Some Ghanaians have indicated that they do not care about the deadline because they already have huge debts on their momo accounts. Such mobile phone users believe that blocking their sim cards would rather be to their advantage.
