Kwesi Pratt Reveals What Akufo Addo’s Father Would Have Said To His Son If He Was Alive

Popular Ghanaian journalist and chief editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt has sent a bold message to President Akufo Addo following government’s bold decision about how the Republic Day of Ghana is observed by Ghanaians.

Speaking on Pan African TV this morning, Kwesi Pratt revealed that President Akufo Addo and his team have “intentionally” changed the norm of how the Republic Day of the country is celebrated. He added that on every 1st July, Ghanaians were given a day off from work to make them observe the Republic day as a holiday as well but Akufo Addo has changed it.

Kwesi Pratt revealed that the father of President Akufo Addo would have disagreed and urged his son to cancel that decision they took. He added that Edward Akufo Addo (son of President Akufo Addo) was very patriotic and knew the essence of making 1st July a holiday.

He added that President Akufo Addo’s administration has failed to honour the very day the country became a republic. He sent bold message to President Akufo Addo to do the needful and let Ghanaians have 1st July as a public holiday and not just a commemorative day.

This comes after the president instructed the interior minister to make 1st July of every year a commemorative day and not a holiday. It would be observed as a republic day but not as a holiday day as well.
