Jamie Carrager Names top club that will find it difficult to finish in top four next seasons

Jamie Carrager, a former player for Liverpool, has made the surprise prediction that Manchester United would be the club that struggles the most to finish in the top four in the upcoming season. Jamie Carragher claims that Erik ten Hag must take Manchester United back to the Champions League next season, although that will not be a straightforward task.

Liverpool legend Carragher believes signing De Jong would be a real coup for United but has warned the club that they face a major battle to secure a top-four finish next season. Jamie Carragher has admitted it “doesn’t feel right” to see Manchester United competing in the Europa League but says it will not be easy for them to return to the top four this season.

Asked if he was ‘nervous’ that Manchester United could challenge for the Premier League title in Ten Hag’s first season at Old Trafford, Carragher added: ‘I wouldn’t say nervous. ‘I think there’s a long road for United that they’re on at the moment in terms of challenging for the title.

‘I think the first thing when it comes to Ten Hag and the players they’re bringing in will be, “we need to get this club back in the Champions League where it belongs”. That’s where Manchester United should be.

Man Utd competing in Europa League for third time in four seasons after finishing sixth last term; Erik ten Hag must return club to Champions League before thinking of pushing for title, says Jamie Carragher – who believes Frenkie de Jong would make ‘huge difference’ at Old Trafford. Do you agree Manchester United will not
