The family of the late President Prof. John Evans Atta Mills said they will not attend the 10th-anniversary celebration of the late President because they have not been officially invited to be part of the event that will take place on the 24th of July 2022.
According to Dr. Cadman Mills, he only saw the renovation of the tomb of the late president on social media, the family was not informed which he thought was not the best and goes against tradition.
“I only got to know that the tomb of our late brother was being renovated on social media and this is not the best because If something like that is happening, the family should be informed immediately so if they have some suggestions for the renovation they can make, but that was not followed, and it goes against tradition,” he added.
Dr. Cadman Mills said he asked the family members if there was an invitation for them but the answer is no so they don’t want to attend though nobody can prevent the family from attending that event.
He also wants president Nana akufo Addo and the Ghanaian citizens to do the family some honor by not attending the 10th anniversary too.
“I don’t know if President Akufo-Addo is aware of this incident, but I am asking him to do the family some honors and show solidarity by refusing to attend the event as well as Ghanaian,” Dr. Cadman Mills added.
He added that the family does not want Veto power but they should have been aware of everything ongoing.
