Administration and Operations Manager of Asante Kotoko Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi has been explaining why coach Prosper Ogum resigned as head coach of the reigning league champions. According to him questions were posed to the coach during a meeting about player transfers and that got a different answer from the coach as he indicated his readiness to move on.
“During the meeting with the board to discuss his report to the management, there was a disagreement over his request to sack 10 players and recruit 17 new players, four centre-backs. It was at the point when some members of the board questioned the justification of some of his requests that Coach Prosper Ogum said he had a two-year contract but wanted to move on with his life, so the club must look for a new coach. Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, the Administration and Operations Manager of Kotoko told Daily Graphic.
Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi made it known that coach Prosper Ogum is yet to serve an official resignation letter but efforts made to let him rescind his decision have proved futile.
“The coach has not formally written to the club about his resignation, but even when some members tried to persuade him to change his mind, his response was that his decision was final,” Mr Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi told the Daily Graphic.
Reports have noted attempts to replace coach Prosper Ogum at Asante Kotoko.
