Four-time Olympic Gold medalist Sir Mo Farah has ‘lifted a huge burden off his shoulders’ by revealing in a new documentary that he’s not the ‘real Mo Farah.’
The legendary athlete who was knighted by the Queen five years ago following his achievement at the Olympics, including winning double gold at London 2012 dropped the bombshell in a BBC1 documentary,
He said he has been using a false identity all this while and now that he has let it out, he feels free.
“There’s something about me you don’t know. It’s a secret that I’ve been hiding since I was a child,” Mo Farah said as quoted by The Sun.

“I’ve been keeping it for so long, it’s been difficult because you don’t want to face it. Often my kids ask questions — ‘Dad, how come this?’ And you’ve always got an answer for everything, but you haven’t got an answer for that. “That’s the main reason in telling my story because I want to feel normal and not feel like you’re holding on to something.”
Mo Farah in the documentary revealed he was smuggled to the UK as a servant by a mystery woman and his father, who he claimed was born and raised in England before returning to Somalia to marry his mother, was actually killed in the civil war. The 39-year-old also disclosed Mo Farah was an adopted name and his real name was Hussein Abdi Kahin.

“The hardest thing for me, was just not being honest,” he said. “I feel like something’s been lifted off of my shoulders.
“But that’s just me. I don’t know how everyone’s going to see it. Now I’m starting to understand me. Me, not Mohamed.”
