Team Ghana Fail To Impress At World Athletics Championship As Joseph Amoah Finishes Fifth Position

Team Ghana at the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Oregon, United States of America is yet to make a better impression after Joseph Paul Amoah failed to qualify to the semifinals of 200m. Joseph Paul Amoah finished 5th in 200m heat, which was not enough to make advancement in the race.

He ran at 20.40s and that became his season’s best. The failure to make it to the semifinals meant Ghana will not be able to chalk a success in the 200m.

Joseph Paul Amoah – ahead of 2022 World Athletics Championship – was tipped to go extra mile in attaining a medal for Ghana.

Before this latest blow, team Ghana few days ago failed to advance to the semifinals of 100m. Benjamin Azamati and Joseph Paul Amoah put a spirited performance but the presence of other competent athletes denied them the chance to make progress.

The positive aspect left for team Ghana in the Athletics championship is the chance to compete and glitter in remaining events which include; Men’s 4*100 relay team, 800m which will be competed by Alex Amankwa and long jump which falls in the area of Deborah Acquah.

Team Ghana continues to maintain a sense of optimism to clinch either gold, silver or bronze before the entire championship wraps up.
