The Principle of the Ejuraman Technical Institute, in the Ejura Sekedumase Municipal of the Ashanti Region, Mr Bernard Tabi Amponsah, expressing his appreciation to the government in its efforts to improve the Technical And Vocational Educational And Training ( TVET) sector, has applauded the Minister of Education, Dr Osei Yaw Adutwum, Director General and Deputy Director of TVET, Mrs Mawusi Nudekor Awity and Mr David Prah respectively for making the sector’s agenda becoming reality.
The Principal observed that Technical education plays a crucial role in national development therefore, with the current measures been put in place by the government, there would be no doubt that the country would soon contribute to the rapid growth of the country
Mr Tabi who was speaking to the Content Writer King Amoah in an interview, said Heads of Technical Institutions in the country embrace, happy and are ready to back back government to archive its aim since no economy can be on its feets without vocational and technical education.
According to him, due to the interventions been put in place by the government to raise the standards of TVET, Ejuraman Technical Institute is making strides to become one of the leading technical schools in the country.
The Principal mentioned Ejurahene, Barima Osei Hwedie as the brain behind the success story of the school, stressing that the chief have and still been contributing to the development of the school in both cash and in kinds.
This is because Barima Osei Hwedie believes that education is the engine of economic growth, Mr Tabi quoted the chief to have made the assertion.
He also commended the Krontehene of the town Nana Odieasempa Antwi Oboagyei II who apart from giving financial assistance, have also been using his Radio and Television stations at Ejura to advertise and promoting the image of the school.
Such noble personalities he said, have technical schools at heart and are ready to support it because the sector plays a role to build an effective economy in terms of financial generation and job opportunities.
Mr Bernard Amponsah reiterated that as part of measures to improve the school, the Board Chairman of the lnstitute, Mr Enin Pambour is presently building an ultra modern three (3) classroom complex facility that consists Information And Technology Center (ICT) for the school with his own resources.
Mr Pambour who also doubles as the Secretary of the Ejura Divisional Council, the Principal bemoaned deserves praises for the numerous roles that he has played for Ejuraman Technical Institute to produce number of scholars notably engineers and among others who have established and managing their own companies or working in the both private and public institutions to earn their living.
Mr Bernard Tabi Amponsah recalled that he was posted to the school in 2013, but through hard work and systematic management supports he received from Nananom and stakeholders, the school is seeing lots of progress.
He said a UK-based Non Governmental Organization (NGO) dubbed One-Child recently supported the school with 70 mono desks.
It has also dished out an offer of Ghc 5,000.00 which the school has used to purchase a Deep Freezer and Industrial Machines to support the Catering and Dressing Making and Fashion Designing Departments of the school respectively.
Mr Tabi indicated that the school is currently undertaking Electrical Technology and Building Workshop projects to enhance academic works and accordingly appealed to individuals, especially, the citizens of Ejura, Nananom, Churches, NGO’s and philanthropists to come to the aid of the school to help realize their vision.
Government has done its best to support the school, and since it cannot shoulder all our challenges due to other national tasks, hence our public appeal for support, the principal concluded. Â
