On Wednesday, we return to Court to receive the ruling of the High Court on whether it will quash an irresponsible order that gave the police the power to go on a fishing expedition to “search my electronic devices for any Crime or Fruit of Crime”.
I await that order which will end the abusive practice of obtaining exparte orders to search the Phones of people, without giving them a chance to be heard. We do this not for myself but to enrich the rights of our citizens generally.
This is because even before the Judge gave his order, we became aware that the Attorney General went to a friendly court to obtain an Ex-Parte Order to receive subscriber information from the Telcos; and monitor my communications.
I want to continue to encourage my fellow activists; and those who refuse to accept that this country is not worth fighting for. That is the conceit and wager of the corrupt elite; who will rather kill and impoverish, than secure all their freedom from poverty.
Through a single act, we broke the front of the increasing culture of silence under this regime. We demystified the ugly face of their dictatorship that thrives on the complicity of our silence.
We loosened and made meaningless any mental chokehold they had over young Ghanaians. And we won’t stop till their morally bereft bankrupt leadership is overthrown. For It is appointed unto freedom to prevail over tyranny.
