The ruling New Patriotic Party over the weekend conducted her national executive elections. The elections saw Stephen Ntim and Justin Frimpong Koduah emerge as Party Chairman and General Secretary respectively. Henry Nana Boakye won the National Organizer position with Kate Gyamfuah retaining the Women’s Organizer role.
One of the easiest of wins went to Kate Gyamfuah who pulled over 93% of votes to become the Women’s Organizer. She polled 620 votes as compared to 9 by Ellen Ama Daaku and 32 by Hajia Sawudatu Saeed. On Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana today, Monday, July 18, 2022, Special Aide to former President, Joyce Bawa Mogtari teased Ellen Ama Daaku about her loss in the just ended NPP executive elections.
According to Joyce Bawa, aide to John Mahama, she felt Ama could have done better. She complained that this shows that things aren’t well in the NPP. Joyce said she was appalled to know that Ama just got 9 votes despite all the loud mouthing that she did. In defense Ama mentioned that she didn’t have enough resources to support her campaign. She added that she made a point and with age on her side had a bright future in further elections.
Joyce still wasn’t pleased and teased her about her loss. Ama then said that she should wait and see what happens in the NDC executive elections. She boldly questioned if Joyce had stood for an election before and told her to try contesting an election and feel the heat before teasing others about their loss.
