A mother of one known as Emelia from Sehwi tells what happened after she gave her money to her Auntie’s husband to give it out as a loan for six months. The lady explained herself that she started taking care of herself at the age of 12 till she completed Junior High School, her uncle helped to further her education to Senior high school. After she completed school, she started working at a filling station for 8 years.
Emelia said she bought a shop with the money she earned, unfortunately, all her things got stolen by thieves. She then gave the rest of the money she had which was an amount of GH20,000 to her Auntie’s husband 2 years ago to give it out as a loan for six months. The lady claims she asked for her money from the man few months later, it was at that time that her Auntie’s husband revealed to her that he didn’t give the money to anyone but he used it for something else.
He explained to her that he too gave the money to his friend to do a business but his friend didn’t pay back the money and he has also run away from the town. Emelia said her Auntie’s husband gave her a promise to pay back all the money but it has been 2 years now and it seems that he is not willing to pay anything to her.
The lady again said she has given birth to one child and has no one to support her, she has lost her job, her rent too is due and has no money to pay the rent. She is now sleeping in her friend’s container shop but the man too doesn’t want to pay the money to her. Emelia is pleading with her Auntie’s husband to pay back her money so that she can pay her rent and used the rest of it to start up a business.
