FC Bayern Munich has accepted a final proposal from Barca for the transfer of the 33-year-old Polish striker Robert Lewandowski. The deal is worth €45M plus €5M variables.
Lewandowski will have four year deal in total at Barca, three years fixed plus one year optional.
Lewandowski will sign the contract with Barca this weekend and join the rest of the team in the US for pre-season.
The arrival of Lewandowski will open doors for Memphis Depay to leave if Barca receives good offers for the player. according to Gerard Romero, Lewandowski will be interested in Memphis house if he eventually leaves.
Barca has not ruled out the signing of Sevilla defender Joules Kounde who is also wanted by Chelsea in the English premiership.
According to Gerard Romero, “the Kounde theme will heat up very strongly and can also happen quickly when Barca activates the second lever”.
Xavi has told the team to fulfil his other request with Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpulicueta in line. The Barca head coach wants to reinforce his defence as they prepare for the next season ahead.
It was earlier reported that Samuel Umtiti failed medicals when he was handed a transfer to the French side Rennes in the French Ligue 1. According to Bruno Genesio (Rennes manager), Samuel Umtiti did not undergo any medical examination at the club and he regrets the false news circulated about the French defender.
