Good news for Ghanaians, Finally, the IMF comments positively on government policy.

Finally, there is good news. As part of their procedures to formally meet Ghanaian stakeholders and better understand Ghana’s needs, the IMF paid a visit to Ghana on Wednesday, July 13, gathering information and determining what the country can qualify for.

This came when the government of Ghana approached the IMF and asked for financial assistance in order to ensure the viability of the nation.

The free secondary school program, which offered free secondary school education to Ghanaian people, was one of many initiatives that consumed government funds.

IMF representatives praised the free secondary school program at the conclusion of the meeting, calling it an innovative initiative that needed to be safeguarded.

It was disclosed in the Fund FAQs at the end of the meeting.

“We are still at an early stage in the discussions, but we believe that the free senior high school (SHS) is an innovative policy that needs to be protected,” the Fund stated in its FAQs.
