Tanzanian giants Simba SC sign Augustine Okrah from Bechem United on a two-year deal

Tanzanian giants Simba Sporting Club has signed Ghanaian forward Augustine Okrah from local side Bechem United for the upcoming season.

Okrah, has signed a two-year deal with the Lions after impressing in the just ended 2021/22Ghana Premier League, GPL campaign.

He scored 14 goals for the Hunters as they finished third in the GPL behind Medeama SC who finished second and winners Asante Kotoko.

Okrah, also helped Bechem United pick up the runners-up medal after losing the FA Cup final to Accra Hearts of Oak last season.

His impressive displays for the Hunters, is what swayed the Tanzanian outfit to move for his signature as they seek to improve their squad for next season.

Simba, lost the Tanzania championship to bitter rivals Young Africans last season, and, they will be eager to regain the title they won the season before.

The Lions will also compete in the CAF Champions League competition next season where they will look to do well in Africa’s biggest club competition.

Chieftains at the club will look to Okrah and co to provide them with the arsenal they need to win the domestic title again as well as in their quest to go as far as they can in their African campaign.

Simba SC plays their home games at the 60,000 capacity Benjamin Mpaka Stadium, Dar es Salaam, and, has won the Tanzanian league title 22 times and are four times winners of the FA Cup in the East African country.
