The debates about the government’s engagement with the IMF seem endless. Today, the Member of Parliament for the Adaklu Constituency, Kwame Governs Agbodza joined Randy Abbey on the Good Morning Ghana show to continue that debate. He was of the view that we are in this current state because of the poor management of the economy. During the show, Agbodza quoted how much he earned as a take-home salary to justify how even as an MP, he suffers.
“Randy, I got my salary last week. I received on GHc 13,600 as salary as a Member of Parliament. How is this possible? Even with that, this payment was my salary for previous months”
Randy Abbey quickly interjected him and told Agbodza to tell Ghanaians the truth about the real salary he earns, “That is your take-home. You also have your car loans and other allowance. I dare you to give us the consolidated figure. You get tax exemptions amongst others and when we add it to your take-home, it is more than enough”
