Blame Your Lifestyle and Actions Too as Reasons for Going to IMF – Sefa Kayi Finally Faces NPP

It’s has been quite some time now since the government of Ghana and the party communicators have been blaming the current economic crisis on the impact of COVID-19 and lately on the Russian-Ukraine Crisis.

Most Ghanaians and the opposition NDC has greatly opposed the claims. Some journalist have been touted as anti-NPP for boldly criticizing the government.

One voice many have expected long ago to be the voice of the ordinary and help push the government to do the right thing is PeaceFM’s Kokrokoo Morning Show Host, Kwame Sefa Kayi. Many has accused him of being a government activist instead of putting the Nana Akufo-Addo led administration by his opportunity to interact with them.

Many are of the view that Nana Akufo-Addo used the appointment he gave him to tame him but he has defiled the odds this time around to disagree with Nana Akufo-Addo and the party’s position on current economic challenges.

Mr Kwame Sefa Kayi has finally done the needful in a statement Ghanaians have been longing to hear from him and other prominent journalist to say to the face of government. The statement though contradicts the claims by His boss Nana Akufo-Addo that Ghana’s economic crisis is due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukraine crisis.

According to Kwame Sefa Kayi, the government cannot wholely blame the current economic woes on the Russian-Ukraine war or COVID-19. He noted their Lifestyle and actions have contributed to Ghana going to the IMF.

“Why can’t we accept that whether it was Russia Ukraine cupboard balance-of-payments support our economic crisis is also due to our actions or lifestyle and that has led us to IMF. Is that not the bottom line because that is not the only reason,” he said.

Ghanaian will hope that he will continue to put the government right as he has began.
