Iñaki says “I love palm nut soup” in response to a question about his speed and tempo in games.

Iñaki Williams, a 28-year-old striker born in Spain to Ghanaian parents, revealed in an interview with TV3 the key to his speed and pace in his career. Williams was one of the five dual nationals the Ghana Football Association (GFA) recognised as eligible for national team selection.

In an effort to “connect with their roots,” Iñaki and his younger brother Nico Williams spent their 2022 summer vacation in Ghana.

The attacker for Athletic Club Bilbao has participated in six consecutive seasons in Spain’s top division without missing a game due to injury, he has excellent ball control and is quick to attack an opponent.

With a peak speed of 22.13 mph, he is the sixth-fastest football player in the world, just after Alphonso Davies, Hakimi Achraf, Adama Traore, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland.

The interviewer questioned Inaki about his secret to speed because of this aspect of his career that has made him stand out in the La Liga.

The fans in Ghana, who were overjoyed at the news of the change of citizenship, anticipated a response about increased practice and diligence, but that wasn’t the striker’s response’s secret.

The secret to Iñaki’s speed and pace is a meal which has been accepted to be delicious and palatable to the majority of Ghanaians.

According to the new Ghanaian player: “I don’t know. I have been eating fufu and waakye. My mum cooks for us. Fufu and palm nut soup (nkatenkwan) makes me fast. I love palm nut soup (nkatenkwan).”
