Today, Wednesday, July 6, 2022 promises to be an interesting day as Ghanaian officials will meet those from the International Monetary Fund to discuss the way forward for Ghana. It has been 4 working days since news first broke of government’s decision to seek financial bailout. The best of brains are expected to lead the country today as they seek a favorable path to recovery.
Tilapia, a popular cartoonist with TV3 is the news again for a new cartoon photo. Days ago the cartoonist was blasted for a photo he posted on some of the big wigs in Ghana eating back their vomit after they made a U-Turn to run to the IMF. Today, the cartoon looks at the supposed conditions the IMF will ask in return before they bailout the country.
The first condition was placing the country on diet to reduce expenditure. President Akufo-Addo is seen carrying a heavy elephant to illustrate the huge expenses of the country. again the cartoon mentions of an end to expensive flights by the president. Indeed, these eventually feature if Ghana seeks to get a good deal. Ghanaians have reacted to this photo cartoon from Tilapia. Whereas many felt that the cartoonist is on track, others felt he was going too far. Check it out some of the comments.
