“We Need To Raise Money To Complete National Cathedral At All Cost” – Catholic Bishop Cries Out.

In spite of the current economic crisis brouhaha that has sparked a lot of controversies in the country with most of the citizens showing disapproval on the government’s decision for IMF bailout; Most Reverend Gabriel Kumordzi, the Bishop of Keta- Akatsi Diocese of the Catholic Church has stated that it is vital for the government to find funds to complete the National Cathedral university project.

He explained that it would be a shame if the National Cathedral project is not completed and that people will point in its direction and say that “this is the house of God that was planned but was abandoned.”

He buttressed in an interview with Joy News that since the project has already been set in motion, it is very vital for the government to find funds to complete the project despite the current economic hardship in the country. According to him, the days of saying we don’t need the Cathedral has passed and since is a building dedicated for God’s work, it must be completed at all cost. “This is the house which Ghana decided to build and if they do not complete it, it is going to be shameful.” He stressed.
