Kurt Okraku confirms 6 new additions to the Black Stars player pool after their nationality switches

The president of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku has announced that 6 players have completed their nationality switches and are now available for selection into the Black Stars. Announcing via a tweet, he said Tariq Lamptey, Inaki Williams, Mohammed Salisu, Stephen Ambrosius, Patrick Pfeffer and Ransford Yeboah are available for national selection. Aside Lamptey, Inaki and Salisu, the rest are all unheard of. They aren’t exceptional for us to be going after them. The teams they play for are not even top sides. We must stop hyping them.

Inaki Williams later in the afternoon today released a video on twitter confirming his switch to Ghana. Kurt met Mohammed Salisu on 2 occasions earlier in the year and has now confirmed he is ready to play for us. He also held talks with the father of Tariq Lamptey who has also agreed for his son to play for Ghana. The availability of these players gives Otto Addo a collection of top talents to choose from ahead of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers and 2022 FIFA World Cup to be played in Qatar later this year. Our qualification to the world cup is doing magic for us as it is every player’s dream to play at the World Cup.

I don’t think these players would have agreed to play for us without a world cup appearance.
