The government will be meeting the team of the International Monetary Fund IMF on the 6th of this month for negotiation.
As a result, they have promised to negotiate with IMF in the best interest of Ghanaians to stabilize the current economy.
“But we want to assure Ghanaians that the administration will protect what matters to Ghanaians. We are minded to negotiate in a manner to protect what is in the interest of Ghanaians”.
According to the information minister, they are going to examine expenditure items that can still be achieved at a lower cost with maximum output.
“We will have to ask ourselves which ones we can still deliver without spending as much as we budgeted. If push comes to shove, we have to consider which ones we may not be able to move forward. We will have to consider all these. It is early days yet.
It is noted the finance minister will be leading the negotiation with the IMF.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians former President John Dramani Mahama urge President Akuffo Addo to replace the finance minister saying he has lost his credibility.
