3 Mistakes people should avoid while bathing

It’s easy to get into the habit of taking a shower every day, but unless you’re really dirty or sweaty, you might not require more than a bath or two each week. Too frequent bathing can lead to dry, itchy skin and the entry of harmful bacteria through skin cracks since washing eliminates beneficial oil and bacteria from the skin. Normal exposure to dirt and bacteria has been shown to improve immune function. As an added bonus, taking long, daily showers is a huge water waster.

First, using the incorrect soap.

Antibacterial soaps may eliminate beneficial bacteria along with harmful ones. Because of this, antibiotic-resistant bacteria may be able to gain a foothold in the human health care system. Instead of using harsh soaps, try using gentle soaps with added oils, gentle cleansers, or shower gels with extra moisturizers. If you have eczema or sensitive skin, you may experience irritation from scented soaps. Use soaps without added fragrances.

Second, not changing your towel very often.

Wet towels are a breeding ground for germs like bacteria, yeast, mold, and virus. Fungus of the toenails, jock itch, athlete’s foot, and warts are just some of the conditions that a dirty towel can spread. Yikes! To avoid this, make sure to wash or replace your towel once a week and let it dry completely in between uses.

Thirdly, using soap when it’s not required.

No need to lather up from head to toe to get clean. Wash with warm water just wherever else on your body save your armpits, feet, hands, and face, where soap is necessary. Avoid excessive dryness by using this. Soap can irritate the vaginal lining and upset the delicate bacterial balance, leading to a condition known as bacterial vaginosis.
