Astute sports journalist and academic Collins Clancy Atta Poku has dished out a piece of priceless advice to wannabe journalists as well as those who are already in the field.
According to Atta Poku in a post on social media, wannabe journalists should get a side job else they will certainly become beggars as they journey through journalism in Ghana.
Taking to Facebook, he wrote, “Sometimer was a teacher at Kings. Joe Lakka was a teacher at Okess. Offensive was teaching us English at Kass.
“These three added the Sports Journalism to it. Young Kings, don’t let anyone deceive you, the journalism alone will make you a pauper, a beggar, a hypeman and a gossip. Add value to yourself and make the journalism a hobby or side job. Without value, you’re treated like trash.”

As it stands, Atta Poku will officially start his work as sport journalist at Kumasi-based Sompa Fm on Monday, July 4, 2022.
