Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah Sends Direct Message To GFA About Youth Football

Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko Nana Yaw Amponsah, has called on the officials of the Ghana Football Association to pay attention and invest in youth development in the country. He believes that is the way to go for football development in Ghana. Nana Yaw Amponsah made the passionate appeal at the Ghana Football Awards after he was named as the best Chief Executive Officer of the year.

“All I want to tell my football people is that let’s invest in youth so that we can continue to grow as a country.” Nana Yaw Amponsah made these remarks after picking his award at the Ghana Football Awards.

The Chief Executive Officer of the porcupine warriors is picking this awards for the second time. Nana Yaw Amponsah steered the club off the field to win the Ghana Premier League in his second year as the Chief Executive of the club.

His appointment as CEO had been anticipated to bring glory to the club and that is seen to be on track after lifting the league title and set to participate in CAF Champions League this year. Off the pitch, Nana Yaw Amponsah has been combing around to secure bumper and mouthwatering deal for the Kumasi-based side. The team, currently, could boast of a number of sponsors and partnerships, through which a team bus has been acquired.

Nana Yaw Amponsah has hinted of other lucrative to follow as he gears up for CAF inter club competition. His message on youth football is clearly linked to the signing made by his club ahead of last season. Asante Kotoko turned their attention to players from the lower tier side, as some got the opportunity to enjoy playing and contributed immensely to the club’s success. It has been speculated that similar approach will be employed ahead of CAF Champions League and next season’s Ghana Premier League. There will be a focus on young players coming in to play and seal a spot. As a mark of paying attention to youth football and development, the Ghana Football Association has introduced a number of youth competitions aimed at harnessing talent.
