In an exclusive interview with Sunrise radio, Police Public Relations officer Theophilous Agyemang explained that one of the affected police officers during the ARISE GHANA DEMONSTRATION is newly recruited officer.
” 12 of our men were attacked with a newly recruited officer having his ear chopped off. It’s very sad when the people you plan to protect turn against you ” He explained.
It’s However unclear about what the demonstrators actually used to slash away the Police officer’s ear.
During the day, the Ghana Police Service displayed pictures of 12 officers who were attacked during demonstration. Some of them were seen bleeding from various parts of their bodies. The pictures emanated from the Police Health booths and the Police Hospital in Accra.
We wish the injured Police officers a speedy recovery. To those who were also affected by the inactions of the Ghana Police Service, we wish you well as you prepare for the second day of the demonstration.
