Done Deals: Premier League Giants Confirms €37M Signing

Investing heavily in the club’s future to be very competitive for seasons and possibly reflect the memories of the 2011/2012 season where they finished as high as the fifth position -Newcastle United have reportedly confirmed their third summer signing today.

Sven Botman reportedly cost the Magpies sum of €37M add-ons from French outfit Lille, making them €29M in surplus after two years.

Preferred centre-back position, the Dutchman joins left-back Matt Targett and goalkeeper Nick Pope as Eddie Howe’s third summer signing.

Started his early career at Dutch outfit Ajax Amsterdam and then on a seasonal loan deal to SC Heerenveen before his breakthrough in France with Lille in 2020, the 22-year-old is viewed as a huge asset to the Netherlands national team for the upcoming FIFA World Cup although representing the Under-21 side.

An official Newcastle player as of today, Botman’s appearances in the Ligue 1 account for 76 games in all competitions along with 31 recorded clean sheets, 3 goals and 2 assists.

Young talented player with ground and aerial dues as his speciality, the both-footed defender is expected of much next season.
