The much anticipated “Arise For Ghana” demonstration came off today, Tuesday, 28th June 2022. This is a 2-days non-stop demonstration that is starting today and ending tomorrow, Wednesday, 29th June 2022. The protesters hit the street of Accra today with one agenda and that is to tell the Akufo-Addo-led government about the poor economic conditions in the country.
This demonstration took place in Accra with most of the protesters wearing red attire. Some of the protesters were seen holding placards and these placards were sending messages to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his NPP government. The placard below has the inscriptions, “Mr. President, where is our money. We are tired of you and your government”.
What the people want President Akufo-Addo and his NPP administration to do is to account for all the funds and taxes they have received on behalf of the country.
The lady in your picture was also spotted carrying a gallon with the inscription, “1 Gallon of oil cost GH¢ 500.00”. What this woman is trying to say to the government is that the prices of food commodities are expensive these days. As a result of this, they should try and do something to decrease the prices of foodstuff.
Some Ghanaians after coming across this said that President Akufo-Addo doesn’t care about how many times Ghanaians demonstrate the hardship in the country. He believes that things are better under his government compared to the era of Former President John Dramani Mahama.
