I’m Not Interested In A Keep Fit Walk: Oliver Barker Sends Message To Arise Ghana Demonstrators

FixTheCountry convener, Oliver Barker Vormawor has reacted to the High Court ruling on the Arise Ghana intended demonstration on Tuesday and Wednesday.

In his recent Facebook post, Oliver Barker Vormawor revealed that he will not be part of this demonstration. He added that he cannot be in a demonstration that seem like a keep fit walk. He clearly stated that if this ruling by the High Court was against the FixTheCountry group, he would have urged them to cancel the demonstration entirely.

“I hear the High Court, has agreed with the Police to set the time for the demonstration from 8am to 3pm. Apuu. I am not interested in a keep fit walk. If this was a #FixTheCountry demonstration, trust that we will rather cancel it than accept for the regime to control how we protest their corruption” he said.

This comes after an Accra High Court ruled that Arise Ghana can stage its protest only between the hours of 8am to 4pm on Tuesday and on Wednesday. The court also directed that the protest should commence at the Obra Spot in Accra and end at the Independence Square.

The Ghana Police Service revealed to the demonstrators that there have been terrorism threats and it would be appropriate if the demonstration is done during the day. The police went to court for more clarifications and they seem to have won their case against the demonstrators.
