Ghanaians React Heavily As GPRTU Is Set To Increase Transport Fares Again By This Huge Percentage.

Ghana has experienced rampant increase in the prices of goods and services over months and nothing seems to change. This economic hardship is claimed to be so due to the effect the coronavirus pandemic had on the nation as well as the present Russia Ukraine war. This has left citizens wailing all over.

Reporting from TV3 via their official twitter handle is a communique released by the public relations officer of the Ghana Private Road and Transport union on TV3’s Saturday key point show. The Public Relations Officer of the GPRTU Alhaji Abass Imoro said they are waiting to reach an agreement with the Ministry of Transport before announcing the increment. The increment is said to correspond to a 15 percentage increase of the current price.

They held a meeting with the meeting earlier in the day as he said, they are waiting for authorization to compensate for the increase in fuel prices. This has left many citizens wailing all over and reacting to this news for it will indirectly affect other stocks which has relation with transport.

Government currently is taking steps to tackle the increment or fuel on the market as the Tema Oil Refinery is set to begin vigorous works but the question of how long will it take for the prices to reduce still stands. Below are some of the reactions of some users who came across the above news and generally were furious.
