Blame NDC For Fuel Price Increment; It Was Their Deregulation Policy That Has Brought Us Here

The former Deputy Transport Minister, Mr. Titus Glover has reacted to the recent increase in fuel prices in Ghana.

Speaking on Nhyira FM on Tuesday, Titus Glover revealed that the NDC should be blamed for the recent increase in fuel prices in the country.

He explained his point and revealed that the NDC administration brought out a policy which allows to market forces to determine their own prices of fuel to the Ghanaian market.

“Price of fuel is increasing. You know fuel price is as a result of deregulation under NDC administration. Government was subsidizing the fuel and it was difficult to pay. So they came up with this policy to allow market forces to determine the prices. Deregulation helped us but now Ghanaians are complaining” he said.

He added that the government does not determine the prices of fuel because of the deregulation policy made by the NDC administration. He added that the market forces are now determining the prices without any subsidy from the government.

It appears the woes of fuel consumers are not yet over, as the price of the commodity is expected to go up anytime soon. This has been the pattern for the past few months in the country and some parts of the world.
