The Electoral Commission boss Madam Jean Mensa has been hit with a fresh accusation from NDC’s Ningo Prampram MP Sam Dzata George. This accusation is in relation to the pending elections in 2024.
Sam Dzata George has accused the Electoral Commission boss of planning to submit documents to Parliament to seek their approval to use Ghana Card to vote in 2024.
According to Sam George, majority of Ghanaians haven’t acquired the Ghana Card. That means that if Jean Mensa and the Electoral Commission uses Ghana Card, most Ghanaians will be disenfranchised.
However, some Ghanaians have lashed out at Sam George and his NDC for accusing Jean Mensa. This is because, a lot of money was spent in producing Ghana cards. Therefore, it’s not out of place if the Electoral Commission decides to utilise it. That will be far better than wasting money to print new voter ID cards.
“I’m an NDC member. I remember a communique instructing us to boycott the Ghana card registration. Imagine if it’s used in 2024. You see how it’s going to affect our party? Simply tell us that you fear losing 2024 if Ghana card is used because you told us to ignore the exercise” One Clifford Appiah Dankwa reacted to Sam George’s accusation.
Ah well, let’s see how this goes.
