Popular Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson has posed a question to Ghanaians who have publicly indicated that they prefer being colonized that being under the sort of democratic rule that is happening in the country.
The actress asked this question in a recent post she made on her verified social media handle on the popular social media platform, Twitter.
Her post comes at a point when many Ghanaians are sharing their thoughts about being under colonial rule with many believing that it would have been better if Ghana had stayed longer under colonial rule.
Reacting to these sentiments, Lydia wrote;
“Honest question ;
What did you people think happened during colonization that you crave it and white rule so much?
Do you think white people were massaging our backs and serving us tea?
Do you understand that colonial “MASTERS” means we were the servants?”

Some reactions her post got are;
@andraa_oh – Miss Lydia there’s one thing I realised about you , that you know who you are and what you are about and it’s really lovely to always see that in your expressions as well ❤️
@sayyourss – We don’t know our history hence some of us insult our ancestors who offered their life’s for us to enjoy some peace….slavery ended not up to a century ago and our people are shouting for white rule…sad we don’t know who we are..
@Kayofficial5 – I think our educational system failed us in teaching our children the horrors of colonization. And our educational system failed us in educating our children about how we thrived before they came. The empires that were charting their own courses before being reduced to nothing.
@H3limizzz – We are still in neocolonialism so this isn’t anything new,the question I would want to ask is,What were our ancestors doing when these people came to our shores with their SHIPS,ships and CANOE aren’t the same,so this even says it all,They are gone koraaa
