Edward Nketiah Handed Arsenal All-Time Top-Scorer Jersey No. Following Contract Extension

Proved loyalty to English outfit Arsenal by extending for the next five seasons, Ghanaian striker Edward Nketiah has been handed the club’s iconic Jersey No.14 formerly worn by French star Thierry Henry.

Demonstrated the ability to perform at the highest level when given the opportunity which was evident at the latter end of last season, where he scored five goals in eight matches in the absence of lead striker Alexandre Lacazette, the 22-year-old future with the Gunners looks certain after today.

Nketiah who has been with Arsenal since the youth team remains one of the three players after Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe to pledge themselves to the club for the foreseeable future.

Furthermore, set to wear the famous No.14 jersey next season vacated by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and club all-time top scorer – Thierry Henry, signals a great beginning for the 22-year-old.

Before his contract extension, it had been understood rivals – Crystal Palace and Brighton were hoping to sign him this summer.
