Pastor Agyemang Elvis, who is associated with Facebook program known as Alpha Hour has given a reply to Metro Tv’s Paul Adom-Otchere after the latter criticized the program. The alpha hour is a prayer program held on Facebook at every midnight for people who wish to pray.
Paul Adom- Otchere on Thursday 16th June 2022 edition of Good Evening Ghana asked;
“So why is Alpha hour popular with young and upwardly mobile Christians who are already members of either main line or charismatic churches, has the new church lost the ability to solve peoples spiritual problems, is witchcraft still an issue among young people, do normal people also believe in spiritual interventions that border on superstition?”
Pastor Agyemang Elvis on the 12:00 am edition on Friday, 17th June replied Paul Adom-Otchere that;
“ prayer is not causing trouble, nobody will discuss it. We don’t sleep at 9pm and we listen to Christmas Tree, but at 12am we shall PRAY!
We don’t even pray about witchcraft but certain behaviours are akin to witchcraft so we shall PRAY!”.
Reactions
“So I decided to pray at 12am has become topic for discussion? Eeeeiiii upon all the problems in this country, is my praying he wants to discuss? I don’t gerrrit anymore”. A user commented.
Another user wrote “He can’t believe 47k people pray and 4.7k watch his one sided analysis on Good Evening Ghana”.
Others also quizzed that of all the problems in this country, how some people decide to use their sleeping hours is a whole subject to be discussed on television? People can’t choose to use their time to pray anymore? Since when did praying offend people this much?
