The major reason Mensah Otabil was unable to attend meetings of the National Cathedral’s Boards of Trustees has been exposed, and it appears that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Honorable Member for the North Tongu Constituency, simply circulated pure lies about the Pastor. Mensah Otabil had notified the members that he would not be able to give the project the “required attention,” according to a letter from the National Secretariat.
“A trustee, Dr. Mensa Otabil, the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church, had indicated that he couldn’t devote the necessary time to the project and hence did not register.”
So, contrary to popular belief, Dr. Mensa Otabil did not resign from the Board of Directors, but rather excused himself at the time of the Directors’ registration in July 2019. Dr. Otabil has not served on the Board of Trustees or the Board of Trustees since July 2019. Dr. Mensa Otabil, on the other hand, is enthusiastic about the initiative and continues to share his strategic ideas with the Secretariat,” according to the letter.
