The Ghana Police Service has released a public notice for the general public with regards to usage of the Kwame Nkrumah Motorway.
It would be recalled that the road was blocked where commuters have to use alternative routes to get to Tema and Ashaiman when coming from Accra and vice versa.
The good news this morning from the Ghana Police Service is that the repair works has been completed and the road is opened for public use.
The statement noted that “The Kwame Nkrumah Motorway – N1 has been opened to full traffic at 6:00 am this morning following the completion of repair works on the Lakplakpa bridge along the Tema-Accra bound lane. Due to the repair works on the bridge, that Tema bound traffic was diverted into the Accra-Tema bound lane since Monday June 13 2022 which caused a huge traffic build-up.
That service wish to express their profound gratitude to motorists and commuters for their patience and adherence to the directives from the police traffic control unit.
