The National Museum which was closed to public in 2015 due to lack of maintenance has now been renovated and opened.
On Friday, June 10, 2022, the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo re-opened the facility.
The fully rehabilitated National Museum has an additional exhibits and artefacts. Also, the Museum has it roads been asphalted.
Seven used vehicles by former Heads of State have been added by the curators of the National Museum to enrich visitors experience. The vehicles are; three E-450 Mercedes Benz vehicles, two Nissan Patrols, a limousine and a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Ghana’s Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said the National Museum which is situated in Accra should be added to one’s list of tourist sites to be visited.
He wrote;
“The National Museum in Accra should be added to your list of tourist sites to be visited.
The Museum has now been fully rehabilitated, and restored to its original state with the inclusion of additional exhibits and artefacts.Â
