The Executive Director of Africa Educational Watch (EduWatch) Mr. Kofi Asare has lamented that Ghana has computerized school placement yet people still manuver their ways to change placements. He has advised that if we don’t change, digitalization will remain a process without outcomes on system efficiency and effectiveness.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Thursday, Kofi Asare wrote;
“We computerized school placement, yet people still change their placement. We digitized teacher postings, yet people easily change their postings.”
He continued that Ghana has digitized electricity metering with pre-paid metres so no one owes ECG, yet pre-paid metres are owing.Â
“In the private sector, telcos, DSTV, internet providers say pre-paid, and its truly pre-paid. Why does this mean different in the public sector?  We automated road tolls to ensure everyone pays and cash accounted for, yet people passed without paying, revenue loss all over. ” He added.
He asserted that all these things exist and works well in Europe.
What at all is the problem here? If we don’t change, digitization will remain a process without outcomes on system efficiency and effectiveness. Kofi Asare advised.
