The Black Stars of Ghana will take part of the 2022 World Cup that will be played in Qatar. It was all joy when the national team successful defeated South Africa and subsequently knocked out Nigeria from the the playoffs to qualify for the World Cup.
Now, what is very important to be done is for the technical team to choose good players for the upcoming World Cup. Even the head coach Otto Addo has confirmed recently that the selection of players to take part of the World Cup will now be very difficult.
Of course it will, but popular Ghanaian sports journalist Owuraku Ampofo has used his expertise to select three goalkeepers that he thinks have already made it to the World Cup and probably a fourth one to be added to the squad as time goes on.
These goalkeepers are the ones he thinks they have proven to be called again into the Black Stars.
He started with the goalkeeper to start for the Black Stars. He mentioned JoJo Wallacott as the first goalie. He said, recently he is the ‘number 1’ goalkeeper and it’s highly possible that he will be the first keeper.
Secondly, he chose Richard Ofori as the second goalkeeper. He revealed that, his experience with the Black Stars and his leadership qualities guarantees him the second position.
And with the third goalkeeper, he went in for Abdul Manaf Nurudeen. He selected him because of his saving penalty kicks ability.
But he said that, the fourth position is not guaranteed, but it could be Lawrence Ati-Zigi or a local goalkeeper.
Below is his post.
What do you think about Owuraku Ampofo’s selection?
