Privileges Committee Of Parliament Publicly Summons Sara Adwoa Sarfo

Following the brouhaha surrounding the summons sent to the Dome Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Hon. Sara Adwoa Sarfo, the Privileges Committee of the August House of Parliament has sent an open(through the media) summons to the Gender Minister to appear before the Committee.

This initiative was taken by the committee after several attempts to reach her has yielded nothing.

Not long ago did the Hon. Joe Osei-Wusu mentioned that the Privileges Committee of Parliament has sent several letters to the Hon. Sara Adwoa Sarfo who’s currently in the US to appear before them( the committee) to answer some questions but she never honoured the invitation.

Following this, the committee then issued another summons to the minister through social media platforms.

Further, the Parliamentary Service said, “The Chairman of the Privileges Committee has directed that summons to the Hon. Member for Dome Kwabenya to appear before the Privileges Committee of Parliament on 6th July 2022 at 12:00 noon at Parliament House, New Administration Block, Committee Room 1, 2 & 3 pursuant to Article 103 (6) of the Constitution and Order 205 of the Standing Orders of Parliament be published in all relevant media. This comes after all attempts to reach the Honourable Member by the Committee failed,” a statement from the Parliamentary Service expressed.

Also, the summons cover other ministers who were absent from parliament for several days. However, the Gender minister has been served publicly as she’d earlier denied of her receipts to the initial letter sent to her.
