Road Users That Ply Bunso – Asiakwa Road Complain Bitterly Over Abandoned Potholes On New Asphalt

The joy for having an asphalt road in the Abuakwa South municipality in the eastern region did not last long as the citizenry have begun complaining bitterly over maintenance culture.

Drivers, passengers and all users of the said road can not fathom why maintaining the said road has become a problem in that patching potholes from Asiakwa junction to Asiakwa town could take them over three months.

According to the disappointed citizenry, the perpetual neglect of the contractors has resulted in accidents that have claimed some lives recently.

In an interview with a few of the road users, they appealed to government and all stakeholders involved to as a matter of urgency fix the road to avoid future occurrences that may claim more lives.

Meanwhile the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Asabea Annor has assured that the assembly has contacted the contractor and has promised to work on it as soon as possible to avert further predicaments.

Abuakwa South municipality is the seat of the president, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo where he served severally as MP, the finance minister, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta, and the Hon. Atta Akyea as their current Member of Parliament.
