A Ghanaian politician has indicated that going in for German defenders such as Patrick Pfeiffer and Stephan Ambrosius can help toughen the back line ahead of the World Cup tournament in Qatar later this year. According to the National Democratic Congress member, the height of these two defenders would serve as defensive pillars for the team.
He also said that the GFA wants to get these players before the grand show comes on. “I heard the GFA is pursuing this German-based duo, Patrick Pfeiffer and Stephan Ambrosius. Both are above 6 feet and Pfeiffer in particular is 6.5 feet. That is some serious height at the back that we will have if all goes well.” he wrote in a Facebook post.
Stephan Ambrosius was handed a Black Stars call-up by former Black Stars Coach CK Akonnor but he turned it down to play for the German Under 21 side in 2019.
