The acting Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission, James E. k. Dadson, has sent a word of caution to land acquirers to exhaust all due Deligence before paying for lands.
Mr Dadson who spoke during the Church of Pentecost annual Royal Convention at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region, said, doing all the necessary checks before acquiring lands will prevent the aftermath litigations and troubles.
He advised that doing the underground checks on the validity of the owner is helpful before making any financial commitments.
According to Mr Dadson, “You must undertake ground validation checks, get a professional to prepare the site plan, and a search conducted at the Lands Commission to ascertain the true ownership and the eventual status of the land before making any determination for the acquisition of any land,”
He also assured that the lands Commission is working on digitisation that curb some of the issues and the frequent land cases that floats our courts. He noted that “the commission has also employed the usage of digital innovations that have robustly changed the face of the land registration procedures, which can be accessed and invariably registered on the commission’s website for any land registration purposes, and request made to the commission,”
According to him, one of the challenges confronting the Lands Commission is the multiple sales of land and multiple judgement as a serious drawback to their work. Nonetheless, be assured that the commission is doing it’s best to speed the process at the commission.
