CPP Tells Government To Scale Up Action Against Robberies And Stop The Sloganeering

The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has urged the government to beef up security and combat robberies and other forms of crime in the country. In the fight against insecurity, the party wants to see more action rather than sloganeering, according to the party.

According to a statement released by the government, the military should be deployed to supplement the efforts of other security services in dealing with the current security crisis.

“Are we fighting terrorists and armed robberies in this country today with sloganeering like ‘See Something Say Something’?”

“The security of Ghanaians is in jeopardy; there have been unprecedented armed robbery attacks in the Northern Region, as well as killings at Bawku and other locations, and there appears to be a lack of interest and strategy on the part of the NPP government, led by H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, to salvage the situation and galvanize all security forces and apparatus to deal with the situation.”

A CPP government, as we have in the past, would have properly resourced the Police Service and provided necessary logistical support to deal with the country’s current security crisis.”The CPP would want to see more action rather than sloganeering.

“As a means of curbing the menace of terrorism and armed robbery in the country, the CPP is asking government as a matter of urgency to roll out a workable roadmap with the Ghana Immigration Service to close all unapproved routes which lead into country,” the CPP said in a statement marking its 73rd anniversary on Sunday June 12.
