Ghana is yet to pass an anti-gay bill which will criminalize the gay and lesbian activities in the country. What many people don it know is that even though this is an issue of national interest, other countries have a say in it. And even though they also can, it is up to Ghanaians to accept it or overlook these opinions from other countries. As it stands, the like of Sam George who are heading the issue are determined to tear down all legal battles that seem to favor the LGBTQ legalization in the country.
In the United Kingdom and several other countries, the LGBTQ is accepted and people have moved on with their lives. There are no issues regarding this and it seems the United Kingdom is interested in ensuring that this is implemented in Ghana as well. As we have seen Sam George battle and take on members of the lgbtq and their supporters, people think he will do same if he is among the five members of parliament who according to reports have been selected to meet the UK’s parliament tomorrow, 12th June.
Full details of this meeting have not been made known but people are positive that this will have people like Sam George inclusive since he does not let a day slip by him without ensuring that the lgbtq practice is marked as illegal in this country. If he is given this opportunity, will he be able to defend his opinion and take on the UK parliament like he has done in Ghana and on BBC?
