Yesterday was a very sad day for Ghanaians. The Black Stars were thrashed by Japan in a 4-1 score in the 4-Nation tournament in Japan. Most people have talked about the poor performance that the Black Stars showed. Sports Journalists have also added their voices to what happened yesterday.
Yesterday’s evening, Gary Al-Smith one of the most respected and very effective sports Journalist talked about one the players that needs to be left out of the squad from now onwards.
Gary in a very detailed written on his Facebook platform revealed that, Wakaso was given a fair chance to prove himself, but his performance against the Blue Samurai of Japan proves that he cannot play for the Black Stars at this moment. And so he does not merit any call up going forward.
He also said that, he was given full 90 minutes and everything was off for him except his energy.
He.wrote, ” I think Otto Addo did well by given the player 90 minutes. Nobody can say that Wakaso was not given a fair chance. He got it and his performance doesn’t merit another call up going forward, in my view.”
He also added that, “His positional discipline was off, his ball retention was off, successful passes was off, link up was also off but the only thing that can be praised was his energy.”
He thanked Mubarak Wakaso and asked the coach to try a different person.
Below is his post on his Facebook platform last night.
