According to trending news, Togbe Afede has been in the news for rejecting an ex-gratia that was given to him because he served on the council of state. Today, a popular NPP MP in the Ashanti Region, Collins Adomako has boldly questioned Togbe Afede over salaries he collected while serving on the council of state.
According to a letter released by Togbe Afede justifying why he rejected the ex-gratia, he revealed that he thought serving on the council of state is a part-time job and so he didn’t have to take the ex-gratia. Meanwhile, Collins Adomako while speaking on Hello FM in Kumasi, questioned Togbe Afede on why he took salaries if he knew he was doing a part-time job. He also boldly told Togbe Afede that Ghana is not a poor country.
“ In Togbe Afede’s letter explaining why he rejected the ex-gratia, he revealed that he rejected the ex-gratia because he thinks the council of state job is a part-time job. If it’s a part-time job then why did he collect salaries?? Who collects salaries for a part-time job? He could have just taken the allowances was given and rejected the salaries too. Again, someone should tell Togbe Afede that Ghana is not a poor country as he said. We are not poor. God has blessed us very much and so we are not a poor country.” Collins Adomako boldly revealed this on Hello FM.
